Certified Medical Assistant (Pediatrics)
Position Overview :
The Medical Assistant works as part of the medical office team to perform clinical and clerical duties in a clinical setting within the scope of their training. The Medical Assistant is expected to be a part of a patient centered care team approach, assure quality, cost-effective care for the identified patient population and ensure adherence to Sandhills Medical Foundation, Inc. policies and procedures.
Job Duties :
- Obtain complete medical history from patients, family history, record vital signs, prepare patient, prepare equipment and supplies and assist providers with patient exams and / or procedures. Request medical records as indicated.
- Assist with coordinating care with physicians, nurses and other staff ensuring quality patient outcomes are achieved within established time frames and with efficient utilization of resources.
- Perform data collection, review basic health history and document subjective and objective data in EMR appropriately.
- Administer immunizations as ordered.
- Schedule and follow-up on referrals and other diagnostic as ordered by provider in timely and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality within guidelines of HIPPA, and adhere to infection control policies and protocols.
- Collect viable specimens from the clinic's patients, performs in-house testing, prepares specimens / records for outside lab procedures, and record lab results.
- Participate in team problem solving methods, communicate information efficiently and effectively and maintain cooperative rapport with staff members.
