Job Description:
- Perform efficient construction, operations, and maintenance work on both overhead and underground distribution lines.
- Installation and connection of transformers and meters.
- Assist in voltage recordings and loading surveys.
- Installation of street lighting, LED lights, and associated equipment.
- Responds to service calls to restore power outages and problems.
- Perform stand-by duties for power restoration and associated problems during and after working hours, weekends and holidays.
- Prepare appropriate records such as material tickets, charge outs, and other necessary reports.
- Ensure that tools, equipment and materials are properly maintained and stored securely.
- A working knowledge of all substation switching operations, system apparatus or devices.
- Comply with all traffic laws, rules and regulations while operating a company vehicle while practicing proper traffic procedures.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of electrical distribution experience through direct line or service work required.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of both overhead and underground construction and maintenance of distribution lines.
- Working knowledge of RUS specifications, National Electrical Safety Code and SUS mapping system and staking sheets.
- OSHA rules and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skillful in the use of hand tools, power tools or machines needed for job.
- Read blueprints or drawings on the items to be made or repaired.
- Measure, cut, or otherwise work on materials or objects with great precision.
Special Requirements:
- Applicant must have or can obtain a valid North Carolina CDL License Class A.
- A clear background check in accordance with Government regulations.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Real ID for post access.
- First Aid and CPR certification desires.
- Electrical utility safety training
- Pole top rescue training.

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
