In this critical role, you will work directly with members and internal teams to investigate and resolve debit, credit, and P2P disputes and fraud claims. You will play a key part in protecting our members and the Credit Union from financial losses while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Overall Job Purpose

Provides service and resolution to members and Credit Union personnel regarding ATM, debit, and credit card dispute & fraud claims. Resolves claims in compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Answers questions, performs research, and provides timely information to internal customers and members regarding card dispute and fraud investigations.
  • Responsible for posting adjustments and exceptions and performing GL reconciliation in support of the Accounting department. Responsible for posting appropriate debits/credit to member accounts accordingly.
  • Researches and identifies various fraud tactics/trends to provide recommendations to mitigate fraud. Evaluates reports within various systems and provides analysis.
  • Processes Falcon alerts, monitors card processor and network alerts (including P2P), monitors/manages blocks through card processor and core systems.
  • Responsible for the Compromised Account Management Systems (CAMS) alerts and re-issue process.
  • Works/reviews control reports related to disputes and fraud through card processors, Networks, and internal applications. Reviews and updates daily and monthly EWB reporting for debit and credit cards.
  • Prepares reports as necessary for management such as: charge off memo, consolidated fraud log, and other data/metrics as requested.
  • Acts as subject matter expert in card related systems to perform research and transactional actions for investigations such as: credit card system, debit card systems for both PIN and signature transactions, and the Dispute Resolution Center.
  • Represents Credit Union in various fraud or dispute groups/committees through the Credit Union’s card processors, networks, and various vendors.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of processor and network rules/regulations.
  • Provides backup support for credit and debit card-related questions and requests.
  • Processes travel notes as requested by members and internal customers.
  • Meets deadlines as assigned and directed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Requires excellent inter-personal communication skills.
  • Basic level of analytical ability where problems are complex (i.e., transaction, loan problems).
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years financial institution experience required with progressive responsibilities in operations procedures.
  • General knowledge of credit unions may be desirable.
