NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range
$75,900 - $125,400
- Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking an individual with an ability to perform activities including analysis of business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified mission information technology solutions. This individual is a liaison between customers and technical staff to define requirements for technology developments. This position supports the Windows Common Operating Environment and Approved Systems team. Join our dynamic team to develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!
On any given day you may be called on to:
- Facilitate system implementations ensuring mission and technical operational requirements are met. Assist customers with enterprise planning and reporting applications.
- Plan, coordinate and complete unit, integration or acceptance testing to ensure systems meet business requirements.
- Conduct and participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with technical staff and customers in the design, development, and testing of information system solutions.
- Recommend technology solutions for systems and processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary personnel, including center management, multi-functional process members, line organizations, and external contractors to resolve customer’s needs, deliver training, and ensure customer proficiency in newly implemented tools and applications.
This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field plus, five (5) years experience; or an Associate's Degree in a related field plus nine (9) years experience; or thirteen (13) years' experience
- Experience in computer system capabilities, hardware and operating systems, system architectures, and network infrastructures, hardware and software integration and testing
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire
- Familiarity with Sandia's Cyber and Procurement policies
- Ability to translate technical terms to laypersons terms and present them to all audiences
- Knowledge of Microsoft software, services and platforms, such as: Office, Windows and Azure DevOps Knowledge of and experience with Dell, HP, and Apple hardware
- Navigate relevant problems and implementing creative solutions
- Effectively communicate and work closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities

The Enterprise Endpoint Engineering teams in Department 9764 deliver a stable, secure and reliable Common Operating Environment (COE) for Windows and Linux for the Sandia workforce, including a VDI o¿ering known as Desktop as a Service (DaaS). The Common Operating Environment (COE) and Approved Systems services balance desktop software and hardware performance with cyber security requirements to minimize Sandia’s risks to vulnerabilities while enabling the Sandia workforce to e¿ectively perform their work. The teams also provide endpoint protection, desktop management, browser configuration, Group Policy, STIGs, and support for a variety of in¿house and COTS products and utilities. This is accomplished by providing IT technical direction, customer relationship management, project management, and service management for the teams.

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Position Information
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
