Intern, Business Undergraduate Year Round - Government Relations, Onsite

What Your Job Will Be Like :

We are seeking a Year-Round - Business Intern to join the Government Relations team. As the Government Relations intern, you will provide general support to the Government Relations team which includes administrative professionals, Analysts, and Officers. The role of the Government Relations intern includes providing public policy research, biographical information on distinguished visitors, facilitate the Government Relations' Strategic Plan, and other duties as assigned.

On any given day, you may be called on to

Provide analyses of congressional hearings related to Sandia Programs

Monitor legislative developments of congressional and state bills that are relevant to Sandia

Assist with tours of Sandia facilities to distinguished visitors

Assist with drafting memos for lab leaders on distinguished visitors and legislative progress

Interact with Federal, State, and Local officials

Provide guidance and advisement on the progress of the Government Relations strategic plan

Salary Range :

At Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require :

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements :

Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0

Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Note : If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.

Qualifications We Desire :

Genuine interest in the legislative process

Knowledge of the functioning of Federal, State, and Local governments

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills

Understanding of Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to provide a writing sample upon request

Capability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks

Ability to work independently but also be productive in a teaming situation

Security Clearance :
