What Your Job Will Be Like
WHAT YOUR JOB WILL BE LIKE
- Serve as a primary point of contact for information services; provide customers with requested information by conducting searches of library reference materials and on-line data bases.
- Catalog and control library and recorded information materials
- Maintain physical collection, including control and inventory of classified documents.
- Make recommendations for modification of policies and procedures for information systems.
- Digitize documents in a variety of formats.
- As required, instruct, direct, or assign work to others.
- New employees must be on the job 12 months; all others, a minimum of 6 months on current job.
- Must pass current standardized testing.
- May require lifting up to 30 lbs
Qualifications We Require
- Provide customers with requested information by conducting searches of library reference materials and on-line data bases.
- Catalog library materials; maintain the physical collection, including the control and inventory of both unclassified and classified documents.
- Conduct special file edit projects; conduct random inventories of documents in Document Accountability Stations; and process all requests for Top Secret and Special Access documents.
- Provide needed input for modifying procedures/routines for the computerized control system of library materials.
- Serve as a contact on Library processing operational questions, write and maintain procedures, and resolve problems with library userS.
- As required, instruct, direct, or assign work to others.
- Perform other jobs at equal or lower level, for which the incumbent is appropriately trained, to meet the needs of the business.
- Perform job with due consideration to the principles of ES&H and Quality; may serve on task force to define organizational standards for these values.

Qualifications We Require
Required Testing:
Applicants must meet the minimum pre-requisites to be scheduled for testing. The applicant will be contacted and scheduled for the next available test date. All applicants must be prepared to test upon application submittal. Once successful testing has been completed, the hiring manager will be notified.
Full consideration will not be given to applicants that have not met all of the pre-requisites including testing. Interviews will not be scheduled until the applicant has successfully test-qualified and has been selected by the manager as a top applicant. Passing the test does not guarantee an interview or a selection.
If the applicant is not able to schedule testing within the time constraints of the position posting, selection timelines, and the available test dates, they will not be considered for the position. It is imperative that applicants are immediately available for testing in order to provide the best opportunities.
Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Outlook is used daily.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience digitizing materials in a variety of formats
- Experience with basic cataloging of documents
- Familiarity with EIMS or other document management system

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
