Position Summary



Under the supervision of the Executive Director STGC. Responsible for processing STGC Gaming Licenses for employees and vendors based on set criteria established by the NIGC and the Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission. Maintains computer data files on employees, vendor licenses, and clerical support activities for the Pueblo of Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Processes on a timely basis employee and vendor license application data.
  • Reviews forms, and documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Researches, gathers, and organizes background information from a variety of resources, into draft format. Types letters, memos, correspondence, and forwards all to the N.I.G.C., Licensing Tech supervisor and the STGC Executive Director.
  • Assesses and makes initial determination of the license suitability of employees and vendors and makes recommendations to the Executive Director STGC.
  • Coordinates fingerprint schedules and verifies fingerprint cards.
  • Types and distributes temporary and full gaming licenses to employees.
  • Explains background process to applicants and vendors.
  • Establishes, maintains, and oversees the security of confidential and general office files.
  • Reviews, revises, and updates existing employee license information and reporting systems.
  • Maintains effective internal working relationships with Human Resources, license applicants, casino management, employees, and Tribal government.
  • Maintains Licensing files for accuracy, submissions and N.I.G.C audits.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

  • Supports a single function and holds a position that does not supervise people but provides guidance to lower-level Team Members as needed.
  • Functions as an advisor to management due to the complexity of the level of work performed.
  • May hold current licenses, certifications, specialized education, and possess stipulated technical expertise as required.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in all aspects of the specialized function.
  • Performs work as a highly skilled individual contributor and considered a subject matter expert within the peer set, particularly with problem-solving.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.


Key Performance Indicators



This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Ability to understand licensing and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of vendor and employee license reporting systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure, overtime, irregular hours and weekends as required.
  • Knowledge of gaming licensing requirements is desirable.
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet application, and processing data in a MIS system.
  • Knowledge of text insertion, deletion, and editing functions of a word processing system.
  • Ability to apply basic organizational development skills, type and use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

Education and Experience


Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years or more experience in a general office capacity.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Experience or education in Data Processing, English or related field.

Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.



License/Certifications/Registrations


  • Must be able to maintain a Notary Certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.

Balancing

Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.



Feeling


Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.



Finger Dexterity


Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.



Grasping


Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.



Hearing


Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.



Kneeling


Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.



Lifting


Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.



Pulling


Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.



Pushing


Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.



Reaching


Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.



Seeing


The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.



Walking


Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations.



Sitting


Particularly for sustained periods of time.



Standing


Particularly for sustained periods of time.



Stooping


Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.



Talking


Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.



Working Conditions Required:


  • Work is performed indoors.
  • Work is performed in a lighted, heated, and ventilated area.
  • Work is performed during the week. Some weekend or evening work may be required.
  • Subject to hazards such as common cold, influenza, smoke, fumes, and odors.
  • Tasks are performed on carpeted, flat, and hard surfaces.
  • Duties may involve walking, standing, sitting, and crouching.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Specific required movements include the following:
    • Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry
    • Arms-twist, reach
    • Legs-lift, twist
    • Hands-grasp, finger dexterity, eye and hand coordination
