Hostess Council Room Restaurant

Position Summary

Welcomes patrons, seats them at tables and helps ensure quality of facilities and service.

Supervision Exercised

Reports directly to the Council Room Restaurant Manager.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assigns patrons to tables suitable for their needs.
2. Directs patrons to coatrooms and waiting areas such as lounges.
3. Greets guests and seats them at tables or in waiting areas.
4. Informs patrons of establishment specialties and features.
5. Inspects dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
6. Maintains contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and customers' concerns are addressed.
7. Provides guests with menus.
8. Receives and records patrons' dining reservations.

1. Must have excellent customer service skills.
2. Must be able to communicate with customers, management and other staff.
3. Must have good organizational skills.
4. Must maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene.

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Preferred

1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.

Licensing Status

1. Must be able to pass a stringent background investigation.
2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

1. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
2. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
3. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
