To Include But Not Limited To:
- Greets patients and escorts them to the exam room. Weighs patients takes vital signs and patient history and documents chief complaint. May administer injections requested by a physician and supervised by a physician.
- Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients.
- Gives injections.
- Teaches patients to give subcutaneous injections.
- Apply knowledge or sterile techniques and OSHA regulations.
- Fills out forms for authorizations for medications.
- Maintains confidentiality of records.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Verifies patient's insurance to know what facility to send their labs to.
- Requests lab work and reports when necessary.
- Schedules appointments for patients when necessary.
- Maintains established practice policies and procedures, objectives, quality program, safety, environment, and infection control standards.
- Maintain exam rooms in a neat and clean manner at all times.
- Executes the process necessary to support referrals and authorizations for procedures and medications. This requires interaction with insurance companies and communication with the patients.
- Operates multiline telephone system. Answers incoming calls in a warm and caring manner, determines the purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
- Schedules appointments for patients.
- Electronic eligibility verification, updating patient demographics, ensure required referrals and prior authorization are in place for patient visits. Insurance/co-payment/deductible/coinsurance verification and collection.
- Handles patient registration, verifies patient's records are up‑to‑date & accurate and updates all information in the computer.
- Check-in/out patients.
- Prepare medical charts. Works closely with back staff to achieve maximum patient flow.
- Handles customer account transactions, provides customer assistance and performs and/or oversees cashiering operations.
- Handle mail and faxes
- Process patient billing and medical insurance claims
- Supervises the Front Desk at all times.
- Confirms appointments for the next day’s schedule.
- Maintains the appearance of the Front Desk area
- Assists with scanning and records copying according to office policies and procedures.
Preferred skills:
Experience with insurance Prior Authorizations.
Prior experience with EMR is preferable with E Clinical Works.
- Demonstrated Computer Skills proved basic skills with Microsoft office products Outlook, Excel, Word.
Required:
1 year Medical Assistant / Medical Secretary experience.

- A pre-employment background investigation will be required.
-Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
