Activity Director/Office Assistant

Job Summary
The Activities Director plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a senior living community. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being among residents. The Activities Director will work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure that all activities are tailored to meet the diverse needs of individuals in memory care, assisted living, and long-term care settings. This position also includes duties in the front office assistant, computer skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program that caters to the interests and abilities of residents.
• Facilitate recreational therapy sessions that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Coordinate special events, outings, and holiday celebrations to encourage community involvement, some after hours or weekends for special events.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to gather feedback and assess the effectiveness of activities.
• Maintain accurate records of participation and evaluate the success of programs regularly.
• Weekly news letter to patients and families.
• Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans.
• Train and supervise volunteers or activity assistants to support program delivery.
• Ensure a safe environment for all activities while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Office Duties include: answering phones, ordering supplies, scanning and uploading files into electronic medical records charts.
• Assist in providing potential new admissions with facility information and tours of the facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities is required.
• Knowledge of memory care practices and recreational therapy techniques is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with seniors and their families.
• A compassionate approach to caregiving with a genuine desire to enhance residents' quality of life.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
• A background in therapeutic recreation or related fields is an advantage but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.05 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
