What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking an experienced and motivated software developer to join our team. We develop operational monitoring systems in support of the US and International nuclear monitoring and non-proliferation missions with particular focus on US Nuclear Detonation (NuDet) Detection System (USNDS) ground systems. From basic research and development to fully deployed operational data processing and analysis systems, our organization specializes in software feature development, machine learning, analytics, algorithm development and data analysis. We are currently developing the newest release of this system. Our system consists of millions of lines of code written primarily in C , a Java front end, and peripheral Python scripts.

Security Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment / education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
