Ocean Properties Hotels, Resorts, & Affiliates has an immediate opening for a highly-motivated, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual to sell selected hotels within the company portfolio. This unique individual must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be aggressive in targeting new business, and exceed established goals for their market segment. This individual will be responsible for pro-activity soliciting group business for the award winning Sandpearl Resort, Belleview Inn, OPAL Sands and OPAL Sol.
Detailed Description of Sales Responsibilities:
- Proactive group sales solicitation to all markets but primarily corporate group and association.
- Understands the overall market- competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand.
- Attend community meetings and PR events
- Meet and exceed individual sales revenue goals
- Processes all business correspondence within acceptable time limits. Creates contracts and other related booking documentation as required. Manages and maintains account files.
- Ensures business booked is within hotel parameters.
- Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings via outside calls, solicitations and cold calls.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies.
- Must have complete understanding of prospecting, solicitations, and account penetration.
- Promptly responds to all customer related questions and concerns, including but not limited to complaints and special requests.
- Ensure seamless communication to all operations team members. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
- 1-2 years of successful experience in reactive or proactive hotel group sales
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service and problem solving skills
- Professional demeanor
- Excellent listening skills
- Exceptional detail in follow-up.
- Manages time effectively
- Strong qualifying and closing skills
- Enjoy a team sales approach
- Strong computer skills; CI/TY and Delphi experience preferred
- Some travel may be required
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred

*This position is a salary based position plus a commission based incentive program
