POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for perform all the day to day functions of the maintenance department, including but not limited to, machine maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, facilities maintenance, construction and installation of new equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Perform regular preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
Diagnose problems on equipment/machinery including replacing and repairing parts, testing and making adjustments to keep machinery running.
Support production personnel in making equipment changeovers and adjustments where necessary
Make sure all repairs are good repairs that fix the root cause of the problem
Keep storeroom, shop, toolbox and all maintenance areas in an orderly condition
Properly charge out any and all items used in any tasks performed or given out
Use proper PPE and have available for use when situations arise
Follow all lockout/tagout procedures, and all company safety programs to ensure the safety of all company personnel
Help schedule any repairs needed if you see something that needs attention to prevent any downtime or safety issues
Communicate well across all shifts within maintenance and with other shifts
Turn in accurate schedule daily with all planned tasks marked and all emergency work noted
Cover floor to keep production running at optimum efficiency with an impeccable food safety environment
Responsible for people safety and food safety
Follow all SFC Core Values and be a team player

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required
2-5 years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to detect technical malfunctions in the machines.
Ability to use hand and shop tools safely required
Sound understanding of using all repair tools, equipment and testing machinery
Knowledge of common maintenance MRO items (bearings, sprockets, chains, sensors, motors, gear boxes, O-rings, cylinders, etc.)
Comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic controls, plumbing and building maintenance
Thorough electrical knowledge from low voltage to 3 phase 480 volts is a must
PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting knowledge preferred
Previous experience complying with OSHA’s lockout/Tagout standard is preferred
Ability to lift or move various products and or items ranging in weight from 25 to 150 pounds.
Computer literate (ability to navigate the computer software such as Microsoft Office products)
Will have to have the ability to be forklift certified.
Ability to drive/operate Company vehicles (must have valid driver’s license)
Available to work overtime and weekends as needed
Good communications skills
