About the Research Intern Role:

Sands Capital is seeking a motivated Research Intern to support our Investment Team (public markets) during the summer of 2026. In this role, you will support our experienced team of Research Analysts and Associates to help monitor existing investments and conduct research on new investment ideas across a global landscape for our portfolios.

Our internship program serves to identify motivated and talented undergraduate students who will gain relevant skills and knowledge through the internship. The 2026 summer internship program is currently anticipated to run from June 8, 2026 to August 14, 2026.

Work Expectations:

The work location for this role is expected to be Sands Capital's headquarters in Arlington, Virginia at a minimum of four days per week in-office (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays) or more as directed by your manager, depending on the role and team needs. Please know that the hybrid schedule is subject to change, as directed by our Executive Management Team, at any time.

Position Responsibilities:

Coordinate research activities with your managing Associate/Analyst, including but not limited to:

  • Building company-focused financial models and projections;
  • Conducting discrete research projects to analyze company or market fundamentals (i.e., business models, growth drivers, market size, competitive advantage, industry trends, key competitors/risks, financial strength, and fit with Sands Capital's six investment criteria);
  • Completing research on current holdings (i.e., earnings notes, model updates, expert calls, company or analyst meetings, news updates, etc.);
  • Participating in weekly Investment Team meetings and other meetings, as appropriate;
  • Performing other position responsibilities, as needed; and
  • Exhibiting behaviors consistent with Sands Capital's Mission, Values, and culture.

Position Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students interested in exploring a career in investment management (2027 graduates preferred);
  • A genuine and demonstrable interest in business analysis and investment research;
  • Familiarity with basic and intermediate accounting, as well as financial modeling;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to complete assignments on time with limited supervision.

Salary and Benefits:

Sands Capital offers competitive compensation. For this role, the hourly rate ranges from $30-$35/hour and will be determined by the candidate's grade level as well as relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Sands Capital may also offer generous benefits for interns who exceed 90 days of employment or otherwise meet the relevant eligibility criteria as determined by Sands Capital's benefit plan documents.
