STNA Program Coordinator
Qualifications Completion of an approved registered nursing education program in jurisdiction as defined in paragraph of rule 4723-5-01 of the Administrative Code. At least two years successful work experience as a licensed registered nurse, at least one of which shall be in the provision of long-term care facility services. Current valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio. Current "Train-the-Trainer" certificate or ability to immediately obtain. The ability to obtain an Ohio License for Adult Education.
Reports to Sandusky Career Center Director
Job Goals Responsible for the organization, promotion, operation, recruiting, teaching and reporting of the Nursing Assistant STNA Program.
Performance Responsibilities :
- Orients and supervises the nursing assistant program.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum which must meet standards of the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Department of Higher Education, and agencies that provide testing to program graduates for the purpose of certification and / or licensing and state testing.
- Articulates program development with the State Health Occupations Director.
- Prepares and submits, in a timely manner, all applicable reports to maintain program compliance.
- Networks with area healthcare providers and community agencies to develop partnerships, including agreements / contracts, for student clinical experiences.
- Develops, initiates, implements, revises program policies and procedures.
- Executes clerical / office activities.
- Interviews and recommends faculty for employment.
- Serves as an instructor.
- Supervises and evaluates teaching staff.
- Recruits, markets, and plans publicity for the program.
- Coordinates with front office staff to accept new students into programs.
- Evaluates student progress and initiates disciplinary action as necessary.
- Establishes program schedule and teaching assignments.
- Develops and administers teacher workshops for staff training, enhancing educational competencies and professional development.
- Develops, organizes and maintains Occupational Advisory Committee and meets, at minimum, once annually or in accordance with COE standards.
- Facilitates the selection, use, purchase, evaluation, and inventory of materials and equipment for both the classroom and skills laboratory equipment necessary for students to complete the program.
- Attends staff meetings and schedule faculty meetings as needed.
- Maintains student files in an organized and confidential manner.
- Remains compliant with COE standards.
