Part-time Interpretive Naturalist
Part-time Position
Worksite: Creek Bend Farm Wilson Nature Center
Work Schedule: Generally - First Shift (8:00am-4:30pm)
Weekends, holidays, and additional hours as required, 27 hours/week
Reports To: Program Supervisor
MINUMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Interpretation, Natural Resources, Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Sciences, Biology or related field OR one year of public programming/education experience. Confident speaker to all ages. Must be able to work as a team and have a positive attitude as well as act in a professional manner. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record; must meet the requirements for being insured by the Park District’s insurance provider; Current first aid/CPR certification preferred. Must pass background check.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive. Vehicles; A/V equipment; computer and other office equipment; computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Internet web browser, electronic mail software, etc.); hand tools; power tools; weed whips; other programming equipment.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Plan, develop, and implement programs and presentations associated with outdoor education, nature interpretation, environmental sciences, preservation, wise use of natural resources, historical/cultural education, the arts and related topics with direction from the Program Supervisor; Assist with public and media relations efforts; Assists with care and upkeep of program animals; Assists with care and upkeep of facilities; Assist with research and stewardship projects; Attend trainings and conferences; Other duties as assigned.
STARTING WAGE: $16.00 hourly
