Description
The Operations Manager position is responsible for manufacturing oversight by ensuring safety, quality, and compliance requirements are met. They are responsible for adhering to production schedules to ensure that delivery timelines are met. They will conduct production and staff meetings, ensure work instructions are followed, oversee maintenance, and manage inventory and outsourcing needs to meet production demand. Talent Management by coaching and mentoring teams, participating in the hiring process, providing workforce training and follow-up for compliance, conducting one-on-one meetings and performance reviews (direct and indirect), ensuring and monitoring team development plans, and being accessible to the team members. Manufacturing management by owning and promoting safety (training, incident reviews), driving continuous improvement process (lean, feedback to engineering, kaizen), managing costs to established budget, and participating in customer interactions and visits. Strategy planning by participating in steering team meetings, division review meetings, capital projects planning, assisting in strategic planning (gap analysis), executing strategic plans, and developing and cascading company goals.
Requirements
* B.S. degree in engineering or show evidence of equivalent experiences
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a primary metals industry
* A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience training employees to produce high-quality results is essential
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Basic computer skills (Knowledge of Excel & Word)
