Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive work orders, identify faulty equipment and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work,
- Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations and retrofits.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Review production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintain and acquire new technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2-6 years years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is required.
- Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 6 months industry related experience and/or training.
- Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not required.
- Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.
- Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles, ball screws, bearings, slides and other components of machine tools.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.
- High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
- Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications.
- Understands how the assigned duties relate to others in the team and how the team integrates with others in the discipline.
- Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in one's own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.
- Uses communication skills to exchange information.
- Use assigned methods, tools, and processes. Contribute to the sharing of best practices within your own area.
- Must be able to stand up to 90% of the work day.
- Must be able to lift/carry products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
