Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on CNC machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations and manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications. Troubleshooting malfunctions and repair where necessary.

Expands skills in own work area. Maintains appropriate licenses, training and/or certifications, as needed. Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within our area of expertise. Works within standard operating procedures. Works with a moderate degree of supervision

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receive work orders, identify faulty equipment and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work,
• Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations and retrofits.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Review production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Maintain and acquire new technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.

Education and Experience:

• 2-6 years years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is required.
• Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 6 months industry related experience and/or training.
• Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not required.
• Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles, ball screws, bearings, slides and other components of machine tools.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize daily workload based on capacity and customer demands.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.
• High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
• Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications.
• Understands how the assigned duties relate to others in the team and how the team integrates with others in the discipline.
• Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in one's own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.
• Uses communication skills to exchange information.
• Use assigned methods, tools, and processes. Contribute to the sharing of best practices within your own area.
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand up to 90% of the work day.
• Must be able to lift/carry products and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend or climb into and out of machines.
