What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trade Compliance Coordinator position at Sandvik?
About your role
As a Trade Compliance Coordinator, you coordinate the TC-processes of export and import within Rotary Drilling division and drive the implementation of the Trade Compliance Policy requirements into everyday business operations.
Responsible for matters related to export and import customs classification and obtaining export/import permits in accordance with USA regulations, with the support of our external broker.
You support the functions in trade compliance matters (HS-code, Country of Origin, Export Control Classification, US content and also Restricted party screening) to safeguard Sandvik’s core value commitment to responsible global trade, to identify opportunities to create competitive edge, for example via use of free trade agreements and other global trade initiatives available but not always used to their full advantage and help avoid unnecessary risk and cost (reputational and financial) associated with slack compliance.
Together with the Trade Compliance Co-Ordinator (TCC) network you ensure that the requirements of the SMR Trade Compliance policy and procedures are embedded into business operations of all relevant functions within the SMR divisions. You train and communicate the TC Policy & Procedure to the Organization and ensure all functions understand the requirement & scope. You act as point of escalation for Function Heads & Process Owners.
About your background and what we find important
We are looking for an independent, efficient, adaptable, and proactive individual with university degree in relevant field and couple of years of relevant working experience with a customs broker / freight forwarder or in a similar industry position dealing with trade and customers matters, HS & ECCN classification and country of origin (COO), with strong knowledge in import & export regulations and free trade agreements (FTA).
With experience in using sanctions screening tools like E2Open/Dow Jones or similar.
You have ability to operate collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and you have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise and effective project management skills. You have good working knowledge of IT tools (MS Office, ERPs, etc.) and ability to leverage technology to drive process improvements.
The role requires some amount of international travelling (less than 20% of your working time).
