Licensed Nursing Home Administrator ( LNHA ) Job Summary:
Any individual who is
working as the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator ( LNHA )
in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is licensed by the state or certified as a Medicare/Medicaid
provider should have the following job skills and perform the following
functions.
Licensed Nursing Home Administrator ( LNHA ) Major
Duties and Critical Tasks:
- Ensure that nursing services
are planned, implemented, and evaluated to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care.
- Ensure that social service
programs are planned,
implemented, and evaluated
to meet resident psychological and social needs and preferences to maximize resident
quality of life and quality
of care.
- Ensure that the food service program
is planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet
the nutritional needs of residents to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care.
- Ensure that medical services
are planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet resident
medical care needs and preferences to maximize resident quality of life and
quality of care.
- Facilitate the process of communication between
management and staff (for example,
coaching, counseling).
- Develop, implement, and monitor recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention programs to provide quality resident care
and services (for example recognition
programs, job satisfaction surveys).
- Develop and manage
annual operating and capital budgets to effectively utilize fiscal resources.
- Develop and implement financial
policies, procedures, and systems to monitor financial performance (for example,
accounts payable/ receivable, resident trust).
Licensed Nursing Home
Administrator ( LNHA ) Required
Education and Experience:
- Licensed by the state or certified as a Medicare/Medicaid
provide
- Superior
verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient
with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation
skills.
- College education in business/human
resources preferred. Must minimally be a high school graduate
- Thorough
understanding federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

interpersonal skills.
