PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the House Principal is to assist the Principal in the organization, administration, and supervision of the school.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- The House Principal reports directly to the School Principal.
- Work cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, staff, parents and students to perform job responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work Year: 12 Month (261 days)
Salary and benefits are described in the Administrative Compensation Plan of the Upper Dublin School District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
- Serves as a member of the administrative team to develop and implement the total school program.
- In the absence of the School Principal, they shall assume the duties and functions of the School Principal.
- Assist in the selection, orientation, assignment, transfer, supervision, evaluation and dismissal of teachers.
- Assist the Principal in the development of procedures for pupil accounting, attendance, absence, discipline, pupil activities including athletics and programming activities.
- Assist the Principal in developing safety procedures and regulations, inspections, fire drills, and emergency procedures and is responsible for administering.
- Assist the Principal in developing the master schedule, pupil assignment and scheduling, lunch schedule assignments and pupil transportation logistics and is responsible for administering.
- Assist the Principal in curriculum development, revision, evaluation and in providing leadership services to the staff.
- Assist the Principal in developing inventory control procedures and preparing budgetary requirements.
- Coordinate and administer the daily routines of school management as assigned by the Principal.
- Assist the Principal in coordinating, evaluating and supervising curricular and co-curricular activities.
- Assist faculty in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization.
- Maintain an effective and safe school environment.
- Work with Principal in the preparation of appropriate handbook.
- Assist the Principal in substitute teacher assignments.
- Assist in implementing student orientation and registration activities.
- Assist in the development and establishing of the school goals and objectives and the planning of the schools instructional program.
- Serve as Local Educational Agent for IEP and GIEP meetings.
- Assist to provide direction to staff in implementing goals and objectives and interact and meet with staff to assist in their development.
- Assist in completion of records and reports.
- Serve as liaison to 7-12 Athletic Director.
- Perform such other duties as directed by the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Active, Valid Pennsylvania Principal Certification
- Master’s Degree related to education
- Minimum of five (5) years of credentialed teaching experience
- Experience in a Middle School is preferred
- Knowledge and application of effective educational leadership principles, practices and trends
- Advocate for children, youth and public education
- Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff, co-workers and outside professional contacts
- Possess effective communication, judgmental, planning and human relation skills
- Must be aware of current trends and developments in education
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people
- Attend work-related meetings
