Position Summary
As the Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for the security and support facilities during the assigned shift. Responsible for security policies and procedures as it applies to the Accounting and Internal Controls procedures, the Sandy’s Racing | Gaming Standard of Operations and Kentucky Horse Racing Commission rules.

Responsibilities
- Foster an environment that embodies Sandy’s #ALL IN philosophy by creating a fun-filled, entertaining atmosphere. Enthusiastically promote Sandy’s culture of offering superior guest service and actively building long-lasting guest relations.
- Report to work fit and ready to work on time daily as scheduled. Checks schedule daily to learn of any changes necessary to accommodate unplanned business conditions.
- Communicates with coordinator, supervisor, or department head regarding any and all needs affecting work performance, completion of duties, attendance and guest service.
- As directed, properly uses time keeping equipment and systems to record all time worked. Adheres to posted schedule and as adjusted by the manager, relating to work hours, breaks, duty schedule or station/duty assignments.
- Read, understand, and practice all policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Member Handbook. Asks for assistance if unable to read or understand any items contained in the handbook. Takes appropriate action to report any policy violations or problems as outlined in the handbook, either to the supervisor/manager or the Human Resources Department.
- Make suggestions to appropriate supervisor/manager regarding any suggestions for improving guest service, department, or job efficiency.
- Reports to Security & Surveillance Assistant Manager any items requiring maintenance or repair. Pays particular attention to safety related matters and reports such items immediately. If dangerous, take precautions to prevent injury until help arrives to respond to the situation. (Example: An open, raised carpet seam in a busy walkway in which someone might catch his/her foot and fall)
- Reports to manager, supervisor, and Security Officer any incidents involving illness or injury to self or others, and any accidents or onset of illness incidents witnessed involving guests or other team members.
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all matters regarding guests, team members and the business operations. Required cooperating with Company officials during an investigation.
- Follows proper procedures for lost and found of personal items, found money or gaming tokens.
- Any and all related job duties as requested, even if not part of the regular job description, particularly if it affects the safety of any individual and/or guest service.
- Responsible and accountable for the Security Officers.
- Safeguard company assets, including crewmembers and guests.
- Enforce Sandy’s Racing | Gaming policies and procedures, including rules that apply to the Internal Controls and Kentucky Horse Racing Commission rules and regulations.
- Assist with the training of new security officers.
- Review all Patron Accident Reports and Security Incident Reports prior to submission to upper management.
- Escort tokens and cash.
- Administer minor first aid when required.
- Maintain patron relations.
- Evaluate Lead Security Officers, Emergency Medical Technicians and Security Officers.
- Authority over the Security Lead Officers and Security Officers.
- Authorized to address any individual not wearing a Kentucky Horse Racing Commission Occupational License found in non-public areas.
- Authorized to address any individual found in areas not authorized, other than Sandy’s Racing | Gaming Commission Members or Agents.
- Responsible for processing and securing all lost and found articles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a gaming environment is a plus.
- Prior security experience is desired but not mandatory.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain applicable Kentucky Horse Racing Commission licensing.
- First aid and/or CPR certified are desired but not mandatory.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
Equipment, Software & Tools
- Proven proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with HHR accounting systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with player tracking systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with CCTV a plus
- CPR a plus
Working Environment
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours).
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the gaming floor; from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
- Must be able to lift, carry and/or push a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, turn, push, pull, grasp objects and the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and talk.
- Must be able to lift and handle up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Must be able to move objects up to 400lbs with assistance, using pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment.
- Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, reach and turn/twist for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to solve problems, organize and plan multiple projects, interpret data, and make decisions.
