Compensation: Starting at $17.50

Hours: 25-30 hours per week (additional hours may be available for the right candidate)

Are you a responsible driver with a knack for timely deliveries and a commitment to safety? We’re looking for a Shuttle Driver to join our team, transporting materials between Burlington, Rutland, and Middlebury, VT, using a van or pickup truck—no special license required!

In this role, you’ll be essential in maintaining our high standards of service by safely transporting auto parts and supplies between locations, conducting routine vehicle inspections, and adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines. You’ll assist with loading and unloading parts as needed, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries while keeping communication clear with team members. Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to all Safety policies, as well as State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Efficiently drive shuttle vehicle to designated destinations using the most direct routes.
  • Maintain Haz-Mat documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Accurately deliver shipments to assigned locations, including loading and unloading the truck.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the truck, equipment, and essential supplies (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water).
  • Ensure all products are securely shrink-wrapped or tied down before loading into the delivery vehicle.
  • Confirm that cargo is properly secured within the delivery vehicle for safe transportation.
  • Obtain necessary signatures on all receipts and delivery tickets to document deliveries.
  • Assist in loading delivery vehicles by moving cargo from the assembly area to the appropriate vehicle.
  • Clean and maintain assigned vehicle regularly to uphold company standards.
  • Work cooperatively with fellow team members, follow directions, and handle work-related stress professionally.
  • Follow all company safety rules and regulations, including the use of required safety equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including non-driving tasks (e.g., shipping/receiving), with training provided.

Requirements:

  • High School/GED or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills and written skills.
  • Proven ability to set and execute daily, weekly, and monthly agendas. Must be flexible and able to operate in a team environment.
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record required
  • Able to diagnose problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and resolve a variety of operational issues ranging from ordinary to complex.
  • Able to Interpret and explain instructions, processes and policies including financial, inventory and operational reports, to establish programs and procedures, identify, and define operational problems where limited standardization may exist, and recommend a plan of action to resolve the problem(s).
  • Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to changing requirements on short notice.
  • Personal qualities of flexibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Acts in a professional manner by approaching others in a tactful manner; reacting well under pressure; treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepting responsibility for own actions, following through on commitments.
  • Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers and employees
  • The ability to complete assignments with little supervisory oversight.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Wear the proper personal protective equipment for each task, including, but not limited to, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, dust mask, etc.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools, and controls.
  • Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs regularly.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, stoop, kneel or crouch frequently.
  • Ability to talk and/or hear frequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors regularly in all elements.
