Mid-sized, well-known law firm with offices in the south and northeast is seeking a talented and competent Legal Assistant to support a group of senior level attorneys and paralegals.
The qualified candidate will assist attorneys and paralegals through the performance of complex administrative and clerical duties requiring a knowledge of legal terminology, civil rules of procedure and the legal process; will process new matters and conflict requests; perform conflict maintenance on existing matters, as required. Will review and process all incoming or outgoing mail and save it electronically in the document management system. Will ensure attorney time is correctly entered by the deadline and perform month-end billing processes. Will gather client accounting information and generate accounting reports available through accounting software as requested and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices. Will maintain Florida Bar requirements i.e. CLEs, Board Certification Applications and Renewals, and Court Admissions. Will schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings in coordination with the case team, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, court reporters, judicial assistants, and/or mediators.
REQUIREMENTS/
EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies or related field required, bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred.
A minimum of five years related experience in a law firm or corporate legal department environment required.
Must have an understanding of the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
