Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty : Medical Surgical (Med Surg)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day / Night Rotating, 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 1 year recent Medical Surgical experience required; experience with surgical oncology patients preferred

License : Active ND or Compact RN License

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be American Heart Association (AHA)

Must-Have :

Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
Experience working in a larger hospital (200 beds minimum), level 2 or higher trauma center

Job Description :

Work with both Medical Surgical and Surgical Oncology patients.

Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care.

Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards.

Utilize equipment such as AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry.

Home unit specified but may float to any medical surgical unit within the facility.

The unit has 47 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5 : 1 for day shift and 6 : 1 for night shift.

Complete training and orientation, including one day of lead center training and two 12-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.

Dress code requires navy blue scrubs.
