Duties
- Assist students in understanding academic policies and procedures.
- Provide personalized academic advising to help students select courses that align with their educational and career objectives.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address student concerns and promote academic success.
- Utilize software systems such as PeopleSoft or Ellucian to track student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Analyze student performance data to identify at-risk students and develop intervention strategies.
- Educate students about available resources, including tutoring, workshops, and extracurricular activities.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations on academic success strategies, time management, and study skills.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the overall student experience.
Requirements
- Experience working with students in an academic setting is preferred.
- Strong background in academic advising or related fields.
- Proficiency with ArmyIgnitED, GoArmyEd, and DoD education systems is highly desirable
- Excellent mentoring skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience in individual group counseling is a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and develop actionable plans based on findings.
- Public speaking experience is desirable for conducting workshops and presentations.
