Department Details
This position is part time at 24 hour per week in the clinic setting. Depending on patient load and scheduling, hours will vary anywhere from 645am-5pm with an every third weekend rotation in the hospital. Weekend hours will be 5am-1:30pm again every 3rd weekend (Saturday and Sunday). This position can also be a Senior Lab Assistant or Pathology Technician with the same hours listed previously. This position is specimen collection and phlebotomy with minor cleaning duties.
Job Summary
Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
