Job Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Specialty : Respiratory Therapy
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Nights (Variable Shifts : 7p-7a, 11p-11p), Rotating weekends and holidays
Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week
Experience : Minimum 1 year of recent RRT experience, preferably in NICU, PICU, or Adult ICU settings
License : ND license or willingness to obtain
Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
Must-Have : RRT - NBRC Certification (cannot take CRT), Experience with adult ICU in an acute setting
Job Description :
- Conduct assessments, therapeutic interventions, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications.
- Prevent, detect, monitor, and manage disease and complications through regular assessments and therapeutic interventions.
- Provide education to promote preventative care, self-management, enhanced cardiopulmonary health, and quality of life.
- Perform regular assessments of patients and the equipment used to adjust therapy as needed.
- Collect and analyze blood and other specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
- Measure lung capacity to identify any impairments and offer diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on analysis.
- Operate various equipment including Epic computerized charting, Acudose medication cabinet, and numerous respiratory devices.
- Participate in inpatient respiratory therapy care, and float to other locations as needed.
- Collaborate effectively within a team, communicate with healthcare professionals, and adapt to quick changes in patient conditions.
- Perform preceptor shifts with the Respiratory Therapy education staff during orientation.
