Underwriting Senior Manager, Specialty Program, New York
Salary to $225K plus bonus
Our client is a large insurance firm, who are now looking for an experienced Underwriting Manager for their New York City office.
Duties Include:
- Representing the company related all related underwriting related to Casualty for medium and larger accounts
- Extensive liaison with sales/marketing and firms nationally
- Partner with other underwriting teams
- Manage a larger team of underwriting professionals of over 12 people
- Regular travel to client sites
- Coordinate new and existing business and provide strategic vision for the department, including implementing new policies/procedures.
Candidate Should Possess:
- At least 8 years of underwriting experience with exposure to casualty and small/medium sized business accounts
- Undergraduate degree and previous management experience (including proven mentoring skills)
- Strong analysis skills and proven strategic initiatives exposure
- Solid understanding of finance, financial analysis and insurance markets
- Demonstrated ability to develop best-practice underwriting practices
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
The role would suit someone who has managed staff in the past and looking to take the next step up in responsibility. Any insurance certifications will be very helpful, along with proven skills of building strong relationships both internally/externally in the past.
