SRTC is seeking a passionate, innovative educator to lead our brand-new Career and Technical Education program in Baking and Pastry (CIP 12.0501). This rewarding full-time position begins August 26, 2025, spanning 178 days through June 2026. In this exciting two-year program, you'll inspire high school students to develop comprehensive baking expertise while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in pastry and cake production. From mastering fundamental bread making techniques to creating advanced pastries and stunning cake decorations, your students will develop the essential skills needed to excel in the thriving Baking and Pastry industry.

- You'll establish a program that works hand-in-hand with our celebrated Culinary Arts program in a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen.
- You'll orchestrate immersive learning experiences, bringing in master pastry chefs who share their industry expertise directly with students. First-year students will build strong baking foundations while contributing to our vibrant student-run restaurant. Second-year students will elevate their skills through sophisticated techniques and valuable management training, preparing them for immediate career success.
- You'll create an engaging, dynamic learning environment that sparks creativity and fosters growth, while expertly delivering curriculum that prepares students for successful careers or continued education in the expanding Baking field.
- Your passion for working with young people, combined with your love of baking, will position students for exceptional opportunities in this rewarding industry.
- You'll collaborate with other innovative SRTC programs to create interdisciplinary learning experiences while establishing valuable community partnerships that provide students with real-world job shadowing and hands-on experiences that build their professional portfolios.

Qualifications:
- Maine certification (#891) or eligible and CHRC (fingerprinting) or eligible
- Proven education and industry experience in Baking, Pastry and Culinary Arts
- Exceptional organizational skills; ability to equip students with career-advancing skills and knowledge
- Energetic, positive demeanor with outstanding communication abilities
- Talent for building meaningful professional relationships with students, staff, and community partners
- Collaborative team player committed to student success
- Strong classroom management skills with meticulous record-keeping abilities
- Dedication to thoroughly preparing students for transformative practical experiences in our Center's Restaurant
