The Sanford School department has openings for 2 Ed tech positions in The Bridge program. Our program uses a multi-disciplinary team approach to provide educational and clinical services to students who have not been succesful navigating the demands of a traditional school setting. The Bridge provides a combination of traditional instruction (both individual and small group) and hands on, experiential learning for students. Below is a general description of the qualfications and responsibiities of an Ed tech III. Our program is seeking individuals who take initiative, display good communication skills, and are able to work within a team model for the betterment of students and families.
Ed. Tech III
1. Qualifications :
- a. Document a minimum of ninety (90) credits of approved study in an educationally related field; or, for career and technical education authorization, document a minimum of three (3) years of paid applied employment within the field of assignment;
b. Document participation in in-service training required in the specialty area of employment; and
c. Have the ability to relate to students, school personnel and the public.
2. Permitted Responsibilities :
a. Perform all of the duties of an Ed. Tech I and II; and
b. Supervise small groups of students in community-based programs.
c. Assist the teacher in delivery of instruction and implementation of positive, behavioral support plans.
3. Job Goal : To provide a well-organized smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
4. Reports to : Assigned Teacher.
The School Committee will review, revise and develop new Ed. Tech job descriptions as necessary, and submit these changes to the Federation for their review prior to approval by the School Committee. Within ninety (90) days of the effective date of the contract, job descriptions shall be made available to all Ed. Techs.
