Job Details
General job duties include care of OB triage, labor & delivery, postpartum, well-newborn and special care nursery (IV, antibiotics, short-term respiratory support – CPAP or O2) and GYN surgical patient.
Equipment utilized includes EPIC computer charting, OBIX with central monitoring for fetal monitor strips, and Acudose med dispensing cabinet.
Minimum 2 years experience required in interpretation of fetal monitor strips; attendance at vaginal delivery, immediate care and resuscitation of newborn.
Job Requirements
BLS certification required.
ACLS certification required.
NRP certification required.
MN state license required.
Minimum 2 years of required experience.
Schedule Information
2 OB trained staff in house at all times.
8 or 12 hour weekday shifts.
Weekends required – 2 out of 3 weekends; weekend shifts are Fri / Sat / Sun 7a-730p or 7p-730a.
Unit Specific Information
Primarily hours in Women’s Center dept; float to General Medical unit if census low in OB.
New hire safety program checklist includes emergency management cases and competency skills for equipment. 2-3 days total orientation to the unit, depending upon experience.
