About the Job
The Data and Assessment Specialist will provide leadership and support in developing, implementing, monitoring, and sustaining a comprehensive student data and assessment system that connects assessment to instruction and facilitates the use of assessment results to target instruction and intervention. Student achievement is measured in a number of ways, including MSTEP and NWEA assessments as well as internal assessments, with the goal of ensuring all students are on track to be ready to successfully complete requirements.
Essential Job Functions :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment system that includes the following elements :
- Framework and yearly calendar to guide assessment development.
- Data and assessment cycle that comprises gathering, analyzing, planning, grading, and reporting.
- Use of technology to efficiently utilize assessment analysis, collection, development, and implementation.
- Lead administrators and teachers in integrating formative assessment practices in schools and individual classrooms.
- Serve as the school liaison for standardized testing administration, NWEA assessments, reading assessments, interim assessments, and other programs (formative, summative, and diagnostic) internally and with external providers.
- Work closely with school leaders and directors in order to identify assessment needs and provide timely solutions and implementation plans.
- Work closely with student services in order to identify diagnostic assessment needs and provide timely solutions and implementation plans.
- Provide professional development and leadership for school teams in order to inform practice at the school level.
- Communicate assessment progress, needs, and changes to all stakeholders in the district.
- Model and teach best practices in assessment data quality, analysis, and reporting; working closely with the schools Data Analyst in order to produce teacher and school leader-level reports of student achievement.
- Serve as coordinator of state and local assessments.
