Sanhua International is looking for an Senior Lab Manager to join our team in our Sanhua Texas Technology Center. The Senior Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing will oversee all operations of the STTC including engineering and the laboratory. Will work to ensure the budget expense goals are met. Will represent the STTC and Sanhua in industry functions and where applicable while advocating for Sanhua and connect third parties with the BUs. Will ensure laboratory operations, schedules and testing activities are conducted on time and on budget. Will work with BUs and third parties to demonstrate the value of the STTC to support business growth. Will ensure laboratory resources are adequate and ensure ISO 17025 compliance as well as compliance with applicable codes and standards. Will ensure staff training and the development of the team members.
The ideal candidate will have prior administrative experience working in an office supporting multiple levels of employees. He/she greets visitors and should present an accessible and approachable tone as well as have excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate has a healthy initiative and can anticipate needs.
Responsibilities:
Compliance and Industry Engagement
- Maintain ISO 17025 accreditation and stay updated on industry standards (e.g., AHRI, ASHRAE).
- Ensure compliance with safety and engineering requirements, supporting relevant teams.
- Optimize lab utilization through collaboration with internal and third-party teams.
- Focus on improving customer satisfaction and continuously enhance testing capabilities.
Leadership and Communication
- Provide leadership, set direction, and ensure cross-functional teamwork.
- Maintain confidentiality and promote effective communication across all levels.
Team and Budget Management
- Oversee budget, ensure goals are met, and manage staff training and development.
- Foster positive employee relations and guide team growth.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 10 years of relevant management experience in the HVACR industry, with proven leadership skills.
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulations (e.g., AHRI, ANSI, UL, CSA, DOE) for the NA market.
- Expertise in HVACR lab operations, equipment, and compliance requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of government regulations, industry best practices, and time-to-market strategies for new equipment.
- Familiarity with model shop equipment for testing and fixture creation.
- Strong ability to train, supervise, and communicate with staff (in-person, phone, or email).
- Skilled in developing testing protocols, schedules, and managing resources to complete projects on time.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Commitment to ensuring client confidentiality and proper handling of equipment and data.
- Strong background in calibration and agency certification processes.
