What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asset Maintenance Crew position at Sanitation District 1?
Sanitation District #1 (SD1), a public utility that is responsible for the collection and treatment of Northern Kentucky's wastewater, as well as regional storm water management, now has an opening in the Collections Systems Department for an Asset Maintenance Crew member.
This position assists and participates in assigned maintenance tasks and projects in the Collection Systems Department. The area of responsibility includes duties related to the maintenance of the collection system infrastructure and customer service. Successful candidate will perform a variety of skilled tasks that are usually involved in wastewater and storm water collection system maintenance. You will also operate a variety of sewer maintenance equipment as well as interpret maps and work orders. Operation, maintenance and minor repair of SD1 fleet and equipment is also part of a normal work day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in all aspects of working on a construction crew.
- Assist and participate in various maintenance and repair activities, including maintenance of assets that transport sewage and the equipment that is used to clean and maintain those assets.
- Clean and inspect catch basins and manholes, including removal of covers or gratings.
- Drive a pickup truck, utility bed, combination sewer cleaning equipment or box truck to and from job sites.
- Perform visual inspection of the sewage system with regards to sewage back-ups in homes, in an effort to determine the cause of problem.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies.
- Confined space entries into sewer manholes or lines.
- Enter data, such as work orders, using a laptop and/or tablet.
Qualifications:
- CDL license highly preferred, but not required.
- High school diploma/GED and at least one year's experience in maintenance or construction.
- Proficient use of computer programs
