Individualized Education Coach

Job Summary

Sankofa Education Consulting is looking for highly experienced and specialized tutors to support students of all abilities with an emphasis on neurodivergent learners and their families! We work with k-12 schools, non-profits, colleges, and even military recruiters to provide targeted instruction that is supportive of student learning and post-secondary readiness.

Responsibilities of the Position:

• This is a contract position. At Sankofa Education Consulting we match you with clients and provide training . You will provide individualized coaching and tutoring with a culturally responsive and affirming lens .
• You will be responsible for planning and delivering targeted, personalized lessons to a community of diverse learners in a one-on-one environment.
• Follow-up notes to parents must be completed in a timely manner for each student you work with. You may also be asked to communicate directly with teachers, therapists, or other school staff regarding your work with a student (usually by email).
• All Sankofa Education Coaches must have reliable transportation to travel to the home of the student, or another mutually agreed upon location (such as a cafe or library).
• Sankofa Education Consulting Coaches are expected to attend periodic staff meetings and training sessions. You will utilize your expertise in instructional design and learning technologies to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications:

• Five years of classroom teaching or similar student-centered experience in school setting
• Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in education-related field
• Professional Teaching License-(Special Education Teaching Certification preferred)
• Experience teaching ethnically diverse students and neurodiverse students with a culturally affirming and responsive lens.
• Experience in building positive relationships with students and families
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Dedication to professionalism and a strong work ethic --this is KEY- you must be committed to excellence
• Willingness to collaborate with student support team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
