Main Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the Public Affairs, Policy, and Market Access teams to develop comprehensive global market-shaping strategies, ensuring sound communications guidance and execution throughout
- Provide strategic communications leadership in the creation and implementation of impactful global communication programs, internally and externally, across indications. This will include disease awareness/brand integration programs; branded communication activity; digital communications; and new product launches
- Develop and manage comprehensive communication strategies internally and externally to support the business unit priorities, including partnering with global media relations to ensure aligned messaging and positioning
- Liaise with partner/collaborator companies to ensure aligned communications around alliance products/pipeline assets
- Manage a team of (5) communicators within the Global Specialty Care Communications team
- Develop executive communications and thought leadership plans in alignment with global executive communications and employee engagement strategies
- Collaborate with the Internal Communications team on internal communications/engagement initiatives with the objective to engage employees with priority messages
- Manage agencies, budgets, and timelines
- Liaise and partner with U.S. corporate, and global affiliate colleagues across Communications, Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy

Qualifications

- Ability to counsel, influence, and interface with senior executives and communications peers
- Ability to research, develop, deliver and measure communications strategies and plans with metrics that matter - with a goal of showcasing communications successes to internal and external audiences
- Expertise in communications concepts, practices, strategies, and tactics based on understanding of key audiences and corporate objectives
- Proactive, self-starter and able to work independently and in team environment
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with confidence with various levels and functions
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Communications, Business Administration or Journalism is required.
- A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Communications experience in the pharmaceutical area is required
- Previous experience in leading a team is required
- Advanced degree in business or science preferred
- Pharmaceutical product communications experience is required
- Familiarity in internal and external communications is required
- Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to work with senior leaders is required
- Strong issues management capabilities are required
- Selected candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to collaborate in a heavily matrixed environment is essential
- Position may require up to 20% business travel
- All global communications are in English language, so this role requires fluent English language writing skills
