Main Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain the implementation and monitoring of company health, safety, and environmental management systems (Sanofi Standards, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations and permits at the site. Develop policies, standards and procedures and work with management to ensure uniform compliance regarding safety health and environmental issues.
- Coordinate reporting, tracking, and trend analysis of workplace incidents, injuries and illnesses as well as environmental incidents. Maintain metrics of facilities HSE performance and ensure that performance data is communicated to the facility employees and the corporate environmental, health and safety.
- Direct and facilitate the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of required safety, health and environmental programs and processes. Maintain and coordinate the OSHA’s Process Safety Management Program.
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of facility emergency response plans and ensure that all affected employees receive training as needed.
- Provide guidance and expertise for all safety, health and environmental training within the facility.
- Facilitate and provide guidance and expertise in safety, health and environmental activities such as safety inspections and evaluations.
- Work with internal and external organizations to coordinate safety, health and environmental audits of the facility.
- Provide guidance and expertise in conducting safety, health and environmental risk assessments for new or existing processes or equipment.
- Assist in the management of the hazardous waste program: collection of hazardous waste, central storage area, satellite storage areas, load/unload tank trucks.
- Oversee compliance with company standard and regulatory requirements: Sanofi Standards, OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, NFPA, BCUA
- Develop strategic plans to drive continuous improvements in HSE programs and work with key stake holders to ensure strategic alignment
- Develop and monitor Corporate safety performance measures and KPI’s from both internal and external perspective
- Address Corporate HSE priorities and expectations; develop a framework, methodology, and leverage existing tools and resources
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene & Safety, Occupational & Environmental Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, Public Health or Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of experience developing and implementing HSE programs with increasing responsibility OR master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
- Must be capable of providing technical HSE consultation and influence for a diverse mix of technical and administrative functions.
- Demonstrated experience dealing in state and federal agencies.
- Self-motivated with experience in influencing senior management and other HSE professionals in a matrix environment.
- Ability to work with all levels of employee populations and build relationships with others to improve overall efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Ability to handle multiple and diverse issues and priorities.
- Ability to successfully manage workload under deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills is a must.
