Sanofi's mRNA Center of Excellence seeks an outstanding Computational Biologist, Principal Scientist to join the Data and Computational Science team. This pivotal role will drive the development of next-generation mRNA vaccines and therapeutics using cutting-edge data science and machine learning approaches. By leveraging state-of-the-art AI and analytics, the candidate will orchestrate the creation of advanced predictive models for clinical outcomes and extract critical insights to accelerate the development of innovative mRNA products. Main Responsibilities
- Pioneer Predictive Models: Lead the development of groundbreaking computational models to predict clinical immunogenicity and reactogenicity of mRNA vaccines and therapeutics.
- Unravel Complex Data: Oversee the analysis and integration of diverse, multi-modal datasets to gain unprecedented insights into mRNA vaccine and therapeutic efficacy and safety.
- Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development & prosecution of an overall computational biology strategy for mRNA Translational Research, aligning with Sanofi's long-term goals and industry trends.
- Drive Data-Informed Decisions: Lead cross-functional collaborations to accelerate mRNA product development through data-driven strategies and influence key stakeholders.
- Shape the Future of mRNA: Direct the development of foundational models to enhance our understanding of mRNA biology and its applications in vaccine and therapeutic development.
- Project/Program Leadership & Management: Lead and manage complex research and technical projects or programs to deliver on Translational Strategy.
- Innovate and Protect: Generate intellectual property and contribute to patent filings and scientific publications, securing Sanofi's position at the forefront of mRNA technology.
- Earned Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field with a strong focus on data science and machine learning.
- 5 years of experience applying advanced computational approaches to biological problems, preferably with significant experience in vaccines or immunology.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing novel statistical & machine learning techniques for biological data analysis within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, and extensive experience with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies.
- Solid understanding of immunology and vaccine development processes, with the ability to translate complex biological concepts into computational strategies is extremely helpful.
- Proven track record of leading projects involving diverse, multi-modal datasets, including genomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, and clinical data.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Publication record in high-impact journals and presentations at international conferences is highly preferred.
