Main Responsibilities
- Use high-throughput experimentation as a tool to elucidate chemical reactivity and evaluate synthetic routes
- Develop and manage automation workflows to accelerate reaction discovery and optimization
- Use every conceivable chemistry tool and method to develop new synthetic pathways (photochemistry, biochemistry, flow chemistry, electrochemistry, on-line analysis, structural analysis (NMR, UPLC/MS))
- Assist in the design, planning, and execution of risk-informed, multi-step experimental studies to provide safe, effective, robust, and scalable drug substance manufacturing processes
- Collaborate across project teams by working closely with analytical chemists, process engineers, pilot plant experts, and project managers within the CMC Synthetics organization
- Communicate scientific results in a clear, concise and precise manner using electronic lab notebooks, development reports, discussions and project presentations
- 4 years of experience working in a CMC organization
- PhD in organic or synthetic chemistry, or related field
- Experience with high-throughput experimentation, chemocatalysis or biocatalysis, including catalytic process characterization and/or mechanistic analysis
- Familiarity with automated laboratory equipment (e.g., Chemspeed, Mettler)
- Strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate flexibly in a dynamic environment and with tight deadlines
- PhD in organic or synthetic chemistry, or related field
