Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. As the Automotive Service Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure that all services are performed to the highest standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Manage service writing and customer interactions, providing clear communication regarding vehicle maintenance and repair needs.
- Oversee the scheduling of appointments and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, and auto body repairs.
- Conduct auto estimating for repairs and maintenance services while effectively upselling additional services to customers.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices in automotive repair, including air brake systems and general vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive service management or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, brake repair, oil changes, auto body repair, and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing practices is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity in customer interactions.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- A valid driver's license is required; ASE certification is a plus but not mandatory.
