Purpose of Position : Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of general clerical duties including typing, data entry, filing or maintaining records or reports in support of an assigned school or department.
Reporting : Reports to an assigned supervisor.
Employment Status : Full-time (FLSA Non-exempt)

Essential Functions :
Plan, schedule and perform technical clerical duties; coordinate schedules and assist in communicating to others regarding meetings, conferences or activities.
Using a computer and proprietary or mass market software, type letters, memoranda, schedules, bulletins, certificates, lists, forms and other documents from straight copy, rough draft, notes or verbal instructions; enter and retrieve data.
Perform reception duties and answer telephones; take and relay messages; greet students, parents and the public and provide routine information; direct inquiries to the appropriate person or office.
Duplicate and distribute a variety of records, reports and other materials as directed.
Maintain a variety of logs, records and files related to an assigned office or function; sort, classify and file materials in alpha, numeric or other required sequence.
Assist with attendance-related activities or various other projects as requested.
Distribute documents, forms, and information items to students, parents, staff and members of the public as directed.
Operate a variety of contemporary office equipment.
Collect and account for monies received in accordance with standard operating procedure.
Sort and distribute incoming US and District mail.
Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
Other Functions :
Perform related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands :
Inside work with no exposure to weather conditions. Busy environment with frequent interruptions.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking; bending, kneeling or stooping; reaching overhead to file or retrieve materials.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of contemporary office practices and equipment, including mass market software programs such as MS Office and Google Suite.
Knowledge of record-keeping and filing practices.
Ability to read, interpret and explain regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with school site staff, parents or guardians and District staff.
Ability to use appropriate telephone and e-mail etiquette.
Ability to process a high-volume of work with accuracy.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
Education, Training and Experience :
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of clerical experience.
Additional Requirements :
Successful passage of written or performance assessment.
Bilingual ability in Spanish is highly preferred.
