What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physics Teacher - Dos Pueblos High School - Temporary, Remainder of 24/25 School Year position at Santa Barbara Unified School District?
Santa Barbara Unified School District is currently recruiting for a 1.0 FTE Physics Teacher to work the remainder of the 2024/2025 school year. Interviews will be ongoing as qualified applicants apply.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid California Single Subject credential with authorization to teach physics, have an EL Authorization, and proof of NCLB (No Child Left Behind) subject matter compliance. Fluency in speaking and writing Spanish is highly preferred.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be a highly qualified and competent teacher, who has the ability to teach at all levels of science and is committed to the welfare and education of all students
- Must be familiar with and able to teach using the Common Core State Standards.
- Will develop a balanced program with appropriate activities designed to encourage pupils to develop good skills and attitudes.
- Will establish and maintain standard of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Will evaluate each pupil’s development in the course(s) being taught and prepare necessary reports.
- Will maintain professional competence through participation in in-service education, professional learning communities and in self-selected professional growth activities.
