This position requires a Lead Custodian Test. Testing TBD.
Under the direction of the principal, candidate will train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned custodians at a District elementary school; perform responsible daytime custodial activities at an elementary school site or facility to maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and secure condition. You will work in an indoor and outdoor environment with regular exposure to fumes, dust, and odors. Physical abilities must consist of standing for extended periods of time, bending at the waist, pushing and pulling cleaning equipment, lifting and moving furniture weighing up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to replace lights in high places.
Qualifications: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above, as well as two years responsible custodial experience. Candidate must have knowledge of modern cleaning methods, including basic methods of cleaning and preserving floors, whiteboards, carpets, furniture, walls, fixtures, kitchens, and other facilities. Candidate must be familiar with cleaning materials, disinfectants, and equipment used in custodial work. Candidate must have knowledge of safety practices and work methods which include proper lifting techniques. A candidate with knowledge of basic record-keeping techniques is essential.
A candidate, who communicates well orally and in writing, can follow written directions and schedules, has the ability to guide and direct work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, and has good rapport with staff, students, and parents is essential.
