We are hiring for two (2) vacancies.This posting will remain Open Until Filled.DEFINITIONUnder general direction, develops, plans, promotes, and conducts educational school programs for grades K-12 on water conservation, and environmental awareness; and facility tours; researches and conveys water related information relevant to schools to education programs K-12. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISEDReceives general direction from the Water Education Supervisor. Incumbents in this class do not exercise direction over agency staff.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides instruction to students regarding water resources and water conservation policies, programs, practices, and strategies. Plans, organizes, and implements a variety of environmental educational service courses and program classes for students K-12. Researches and conveys water related information relevant to agency’s education programs. Responds to feedback regarding program and presentation; identifies and addresses needs for program and curriculum modification; and develops and implements course modifications as needed. Develops and prepares educational and informational materials for water conservation and environmental awareness program for grades K-12. In cooperation with agency staff, and local teachers, develops materials for use in implementing the Agency's educational programs. Develops, schedules, and conducts workshops, facility tours, water conservation and environmental education programs including on-site class presentations, and off-site classroom presentations for grades K-12. Assists in developing and refining program objectives consistent with the Agency's long-term water conservation and community outreach goals; develops program concepts based on objectives and planned outcomes. Participates in special projects as assigned. Assembles, organizes, purchases, inventories, and repairs materials for the classes.Operates a computer and assigned software including word processing, spreadsheets, and related applications.Performs other related duties as required.PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various agency and school sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. This is a sedentary office classification as well as classification that works in the agency's service area conducting education sessions. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas, and in the community are required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed toretrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 25 pounds. Employees work in a classroom environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and outdoors being exposed to a variety of weather conditions. Employees will interact with students, teachers, bus drivers and school staff, and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
