Uniform and Linen Service

JOB SUMMARY:
Uniform/Linen Service: Under supervision and launders Seaside Company uniforms, motel bedding and other miscellaneous company owned items. Provides consistent, friendly and helpful service to Guests.

Uniform Guest Service: Under supervision, issues, and receives Seaside Company uniforms, and other miscellaneous company owned items. Provides consistent, friendly and helpful service to other employees and guests.

Uniform and Linen Guest Service: (all the above)

UNIQUE JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Uniform and Linen Service:
Wears company designed uniform and work strictly inside in close confined areas. Works around quantities of lint and dust. May be required to wear protective masks and gloves. Will be required to work varying shifts starting from as early as 6:00 A.M. or ending at 9:30 P.M. Shifts are up to 8 hours with occasional overtime and primary schedules are weekends plus other weekdays. Must be able to work holidays. Must maintain confidentiality. Works with laundry and chemicals.
Uniform Guest Service:
(All the above except, no use of masks and will not work with laundry and chemicals)

JOB TASKS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
Uniform and Linen Service:

• Launder Seaside Company uniforms: wash, dry, sort and may iron clothes.
• Launder motel bedding and other miscellaneous company owned items. Fold towels and all bedding.
• May perform some sewing duties: alterations, pants hemming and mending.
• Perform tasks from verbal and written directions.
• Maintain high level of safety and sanitation.
• Clean and maintain facility and equipment.
• Operate: commercial washers and dryers, industrial vacuum, sewing machine, iron and other laundry related equipment.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.
• Track chemical use and safety and report discrepancies to a Lead or Supervisor.

• Work cooperatively as part of a team. • Greet Guests and provide consistent, friendly and helpful service.

• Other duties as assigned

Uniform Guest Service:

• Use a computer to enter info on uniform use, including checking uniforms in and out.
• Perform fittings for employee's uniforms ensuring correct fit.
• Provide uniforms and associated apparel.
• May perform some sewing duties: alterations, pants hemming and mending.
• Perform tasks from verbal and written directions.
• Maintain high level of safety and sanitation.
• Clean and maintain facility and equipment.
• Operate: industrial vacuum, sewing machine, iron, and embroidery machine.
• Track safety and report discrepancies to a Lead or Supervisor.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team.

• Follow opening and closing procedures. • Greet employees and Guests and provide consistent, friendly and helpful service.

Uniform and Linen Service:

• Ability to read and write

• Ability to follow safety practices and lifting techniques
• Ability to learn and apply methods of cleaning and caring for facility and equipment
• Ability to operate commercial washers, dryers, iron, sewing machine, industrial vacuum and other laundry related equipment
• Ability to lock/unlock doors, open windows, open/close drawers, and turn lights off and on
• Ability to be detail oriented and able to follow up on projects
• Ability to provide consistent, friendly and helpful service

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Uniform and Linen Service:

• Able to stand for 7 1/2 hours.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds from ground to shoulder height and carry up to 45 pounds with assistance.
• Able to see and read.
• Able to climb ladder up to 6 feet.
• Able to move at a fast pace and have bi-manual dexterity.
• Able to perform physically demanding work: climbing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing,

pulling, carrying, and stacking of uniform items and linens, materials and equipment.
