Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Guest Teacher. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of instruction and classroom management in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Leadership: Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of District curriculum goals
- Lesson Implementation: Implementing lessons and activities provided by the classroom teacher to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Feedback and Assessment: Providing constructive feedback in a timely manner
- Classroom Environment: Maintaining a positive feeling tone during lessons
Classroom Management and Organization:
- Creating a Conducive Learning Environment: Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Enforcing School Policies: Complying with enforcing and implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct
- Discipline and Order: Enforcing rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintaining order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
- Student Expectations: Consistently expecting students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
Professional Responsibilities:
- Implementing District Philosophy: Implementing by instruction and action the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation
- Collaboration: Cooperating with other members of the staff
- Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality in all areas, except where required by law
- Additional Responsibilities: Assuming individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to student activities, student supervision, or other assignments
- Supervision: Assuring legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities
- Protecting Students and Property: Taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Supporting At-Risk Students: Analyzing the special needs for at-risk students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of District specialists as required
- Maintaining a Positive Environment: Maintaining a classroom environment that is cognizant of the dignity of the teacher, students, and other staff
- Effective Communication: Communicating concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents, and community in a positive, professional, and ethical manner
