Our company is looking for a Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Complete MDS documentation for Skin Condition (Section M) for all facility residents.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings.
- Participate in weekly wound team rounds.
- Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care.
- Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives.
- Collaborate amongst Interdisciplinary Team to encompass all aspects of care to promote wound healing.
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for each assigned resident.
- Participate in the development and achievement of Wound Care Program and objectives.
- Perform all other duties as requested.
- Communicate in a positive, caring, and helpful manner with residents, family members, and other staff.
- Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.
- Respect the dignity of each person.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly.
- Ability to work and stand 80% of an 8-to-12-hour shift.
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
- Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required.
- WCC certification, CWCN, CWOCN or CWS is preferred or certification pending within one year.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confers with the Director of Nursing and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility.
- Valid State RN License required. Previous geriatric nursing experience preferred
- Current RN license required.
