What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Analyst I position at Santa Fe County?
Under the general direction of the Systems Analyst Supervisor, supports departments in usage of computer software and some hardware. To understand stakeholder requirements that help applications align with the organization’s business process. Systems Analysts are responsible for an application’s Development, Testing, Release and Deployment, and Production Support.

Responsibilities :
- Participates as a team member for the development and implementation of systems.
- Provides support for internal customers; trains users in usage of software; troubleshoots software and some hardware problems.
- Installs phones and manages user accounts.
- Designs forms, reports, and documentation.
- Prepares system design and all associated documentation prior to systems implementation including narratives, flow charts, decisions table, input / output formats, and database design for management review.
- Designs, develops, and installs small scale software applications and configures new systems and hardware.
- Assists with defining and maintaining databases and files, logical sequence of information flow, requirements for programming and systems control parameters.
- Develops, debugs, and modifies existing applications.
- Repairs or replaces equipment as needed.

Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Work schedule may include evening, weekend, emergency call and call-back hours. Some travel may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; reach with hands or arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Clarity of vision at short distance required. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. May be subject to exposure to electrical hazards, CRTs and VDTs.
Conditions of Employment :
Selected candidate must submit to and pass a County paid pre-employment physical and drug / alcohol screening. Additionally, selected candidate must submit to and pass a county paid criminal background screening. Selected candidate must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Class D Driver’s License as incumbent shall be appointed to drive a County vehicle during the performance of his / her duties.
