The Administrative Assistant for ELLs plays a vital role in supporting the English Language Learners Director and the broader Santa Fe South (SFS) ELL Team. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, and implementation of all tasks related to English Language Learner programming across the district. Key areas of focus include compliance, curriculum, assessment, professional learning, and the day-to-day administration of the ELL office.
This is a bilingual position, and fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and operational support to the ELL Director and the district’s ELL Team.
- Coordinate districtwide ELL activities across all Santa Fe South school sites.
- Facilitate communication between the ELL office and relevant stakeholders by disseminating and receiving information related to ELL programming.
- Assist in planning and executing activities, events, and initiatives in support of ELL students and staff.
- Address operational needs within the ELL office to ensure efficiency and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated fluency in both English and Spanish; biliteracy is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of the needs and experiences of English Language Learners.
- Prior experience as an English Language Learner or a minimum of three years of experience working directly with ELLs in an educational or support role.
